A dog registry is a local or national database where owners can record their pet's microchip number, breed, and vaccinations. It helps reunite lost dogs with their families and proves ownership in disputes. Some registries, like the one in the UK, are mandatory and tied to licensing, but many are voluntary services offered by animal shelters or online platforms.
